Sally gushes with apologies. Bobby thanks Gran for the gift. Dolores retrieves the five and reads what LC wrote. Her heart wilts and she asks Me to bless her great grandson. LC opens the car door and slips in the back seat, mad at himself, at Gran, and his parents. All of them believe this is a catastrophic moment.

I know better. Because of the gift, I get to change their lives. I love them, but I also love Lianne, and Jack, and Matthew, and Chris and all the rest.
