BIO
Michael S. Rogers is a follower of Jesus, husband and father, pastor, TV and radio show host, author, and content creator.
He has recently begun a journey to answer the seven frustrations most felt by faithful believers in Jesus Christ who are struggling with the institution of church today through his book series, FINDING HOPE: Faith for the Frustrated.
Instead of finding ways to deconstruct the church further, he is promoting ways to start building the church up again.
After a Masters Degree in and engaging in two decades of pastoral leadership in the local church, Michael has led established churches to spiritual and numerical growth and is currently planting a church for the addicts, homeless, and impoverished on the northeast side of Ardmore. His church, The Jar, is focused on making disciple-makers among the least of us. In these experiences, he has come to understand some of the obstacles the church has to rediscovering her mission.
Through his books, TV show, radio shows, podcasts, and sermons, he and his wife Carrie Rogers help their audiences learn how to make the switch from disciple (I want to learn more) to disciple-maker (I want to reach more). The Rogers duo takes some ideas from the first century church and some new expressions from modern day churches to create a learning environment that moves beyond acquiring to actively applying biblical knowledge for the sake of those who are Already Believers and those who are Not Yet Believers.
